The project regards the extension of an existing school complex with the implementation of a gymnasium and a new school building with kindergarten. The main focus was a rational insertion of the new buildings, preserving the local park and redefining the circulation systems, both cars and pedestrian paths. The key element is the platform, which creates an underground warm space and connects the old and the new. The buildings appear as simple shapes with the same constructive technique: a concrete structure dressed with wood. This concept allows different designs for the two facades, one glazed and one plugged, also creating a double system of illumination, respectively horizontal and zenithal.
