MONUMENTUM, Anzano del Parco, Italy, object, 2013Read less
A travertine monolith is the concrete reference and symbol of the burial place. It is possible to discover the pyramid-shaped hollow body excavated in the block by getting closer to the grave. Rainwater is collected in the monument and generates reflections between earth and sky suggesting a never-interrupted correspondence between the deceased and the living. The sky is reflected and it refers to a spiritual and religious dimension through the intimate experience of memory. The monument and the cross are separated to highlight the meaning of each element, each part has a higher meaning.
